This layout is an ‘O’ Gauge scale model of Glenfinnan Station mainly set in the 1970s to 1980s blue diesel era with class 27s and 37s featuring as the main motive power alongside occasional appearances of other classes and the regular Fort William- Mallaig steam service. Earlier steam is sometimes run as a ‘through the ages’ sequence Starting in the late ‘50s.
While the real station sees a very limited train service, the layout is operated to a frequent schedule with faithful recreations of the train service in the period modelled and many passing moves at the station. As the sequence progresses, we move from the late 1950s to 1987. It is semaphore signalled with signals operated by a lever frame based on the one in Glenfinnan signal box.
