Join Mark Caylor and Jackie Kneeshaw of St Neots Model Railway Club to find out about the highs and lows of creating a lock and canal scene on Colinwood. The idea to extend the lock by creating a canal behind the layout seemed great at the time but there is a to to learn when filling a large area with resin.
Colinwood has been seen as part of the Guild modular layout at Kettering and Wigan and will be seen for the last time in that format at Guildex 2026. The issues of exhibiting a layout with a water scene will also be discussed because joining areas of water together is very difficult.
Nonetheless, the team are happy with what has been achieved and they have learned a great deal which can be shared on the An Evening With seminar.
