Club Notes
A new 7mm model is planned which will be situated in the roof space at Heworth Association Sports Field on Malton Road YO32 9TF. This is alongside N, OO and EM layouts. There are now at least 7 members modelling in 7mm - the effect of RTR having introduced 4 of them recently. None of the 7 O gauge modellers are model engineers.

Club news
(Last updated 29 Dec 2023)
The York (Ebor) Club is now back to the new normal with meetings on both Tuesday and Friday evenings. Before Covid 7mm modellers were very scarce amongst the membership. Since the Covid crisis a surprising number of the club members have begun to model in O gauge taking advantage of the excellent RTR now available. Plans are well developed for how we should make a new layout with availability for both DC and DCC running - now a standard for our 4mm layouts. Note that there is no postal service to the club rooms. Email to bartlett.paul@tiscali.co.uk which will be forwarded to the Secretary.

Meeting Details
The Ebor Group of Railway Modellers meets every Tuesday and Friday evening from c19.00.The club has officers = chairman, secretary, treasurer and librarian. There are no committee meetings, instead the members meet regularly for general meetings to manage club affairs. The Ebor Group has several 4mm layouts both DC and DCC (OO), P4, N gauge. The main layout room is the pleasantly converted loft of a fairly new sports changing rooms of the Heworth Association Sports Field and we also have three ex changing rooms and use of the communal meeting room and kitchen. The library is considerable with very long runs of many magazines and some 700 rail related books. Being upstairs means that anyone with mobility disability will find access difficult to our main room. It's not an expensive club to belong to. Membership is £80 a year - can be paid in installments. But there are no attendance fees. Our annual exhibition and in house 2nd hand shop are profitable. The one disadvantage is the location is away from any public transport and the busy Malton Road doesn't have a footpath. But lifts can be arranged if needs be, we have members from most areas in and around York. Parking is good. New members, of all persuasions, are welcome.

No name Plans are advancing on a replacement layout. It is intended to be c28ft long (to fit in the small local exhibition hall we have used for some years), to have a through mainline with station and colliery, workshops etc. Nothing is in concrete (wood or plastic) at the moment but the money and space is available. It will be DC and DCC - something we already do for several smaller scale layouts.

So, if you are interested, or know others whom may be, please let me know and it will be easy to arrange for you to come to the club rooms. Bartlett.paul@tiscali.co.uk
